CUSTOM PRESSURE-SENSITIVE LABELS · BAG-MATCHED SIZING

Custom coffee bag labels sized for the pouch—not just the fill weight

Choose a metric front-label size for GreenPack flat-bottom, stand-up, side-gusset, or small-format coffee pouches. We map the label to the flat panel, then confirm folds, valve, zipper, seal zones, artwork, and application method before production.

SIDE-GUSSET FIT RULE

Same coffee weight, narrower usable label panel

Subtract 10–15 mm from both sides of the flat face before considering the valve, top seal, tin tie, or bottom fold.
W90 mm face60–70 mm planning width

GP-SG-250 and GP-SG-340: start with the 65 mm-wide label and verify valve clearance.

W100 mm face70–80 mm planning width

GP-SG-454-QS-TT and GP-SG-500: use a custom narrow label rather than forcing a 90 mm-wide standard label.

W135 mm face105–115 mm planning width

GP-SG-1K: the 100 mm-wide standard label can fit if the valve, folds, and seams remain clear.

Why this matters: an 80 or 90 mm label can technically sit on a 90–100 mm bag face, yet still cross a fold or leave too little margin for reliable application. The finished pouch—not capacity alone—controls compatibility.

FRONT + BACK SYSTEM

Keep the brand stable and variable data flexible

Use the front label for shelf communication and a smaller back label for roast-, lot-, barcode-, and market-specific information.

FACE STOCK + ADHESIVE

Choose the material with the pouch finish

Color contrast is only the first check. Adhesive, surface energy, application temperature, curvature, scuffing, moisture, and label liner all affect performance.
01

Opaque white BOPP

Strong color contrast on matte black, matte white, or kraft-look coffee bags; confirm adhesive and white opacity.

02

Clear BOPP

Useful when the pouch surface should show through; test contrast, white ink, scuffing, and edge visibility.

03

Metallized film

Adds a metallic visual accent; approve reflectivity, ink coverage, and scanner performance.

04

Kraft paper

Supports a natural visual direction; the kraft appearance alone does not prove recyclability or compostability.

05

Documented compostable option

Quote only after the face stock, adhesive, liner, certification scope, and end-of-life claim are confirmed for the project.

BEFORE PRODUCTION

Approve the label and pouch as one pack

  1. 1

    Choose the pouch first

Confirm the bag format, finished dimensions, flat panel, folds, valve, zipper, tin tie, and seal areas.

  2. 2

    Proof the label position

Place the exact label rectangle on the filled pouch and check margins, curvature, barcode, and artwork readability.

  3. 3

    Test the packed system

Apply, rub, compress, chill where relevant, carton-pack, and observe edge lift on production-representative samples.

LABEL FIT QUESTIONS

Custom coffee bag label FAQ

What size label fits a 12 oz coffee bag?

For GreenPack starting sizes, use 80 × 110 mm on GP-FB-340 W125 × H230 × D80 mm or GP-SUP-340 W160 × H240 + BG85 mm. A W90 side-gusset face needs a narrower label because the folds require clearance.

Can one label size fit flat-bottom, stand-up, and side-gusset bags?

Sometimes, but capacity alone is not enough. Compare the flat front-panel width, folds, zipper, valve, tear notch, and seal zones. Side-gusset bags usually need a narrower label than a flat-bottom or stand-up bag with the same fill weight.

How much space should a label leave from a coffee bag fold or valve?

Use 10–15 mm from each side fold and another 10–15 mm from the valve edge as a planning rule. The final proof must also clear the zipper, tear notch, top seal, bottom fold, and any tin-tie fold-down area.

What label material works on matte black or kraft-look coffee bags?

Opaque white BOPP, metallized film, or a white-ink construction usually provides better contrast than a fully transparent label. Test the actual pouch finish, adhesive, rub resistance, application temperature, and filled-bag curvature.

Should coffee bags use one label or two?

A two-label system is often practical: a front brand label for the logo, coffee name, origin, roast, and net quantity, plus a smaller back label for roast date, lot, barcode, ingredients, brewing, and market-specific information.

Are these dimensions production-ready?

They are GreenPack selection and sampling sizes, not a guarantee for every pouch. Approve the final pouch, printed label proof, application method, and filled sample before production.
